How the area has to be organized and which are the main housing requirements for your hen house?
First of all, before starting building their house, you have to consider the number of hens you decided to keep.
For hen housing, we suggest to prefer wood building which has to be properly treated to stand the damages caused by the weather. It is important to plan a covered area inside which your hens will find a shelter at night and when it rains; moreover, it is necessary the house has a front entrance, some windows and a sloped roof to simplify water drainage. Inside the cage, then, you should introduce all the necessary materials like some perches and beddings where your hens will lay eggs; outside the cage, place some food and drinking bowls.
